Manager I/II Claims
(hiring level based on experience)
This position is located in the Richmond, VA office.
The Manager I Claims p rovides oversight for claims staff – this is a supervisory position that will manage a team of 20 to 30 claims examiners. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: establishes departmental policies and procedures. Provides quality control services by monitoring work results of direct reports. Performs audits to monitor efficiency and compliance with policies. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
The Manager II Claims provides oversight of claims staff - this is a supervisory position that will manage a team of 20 to 30 claims examiners. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: establishes departmental policies and procedures. Audits/monitors efficiency and compliance with policies. Prepares specialized reports. Serves as subject matter expert for other areas of the company as well as within the department. Provides policyholder relationship management. Manages operational risk. May be accountable for deliverables of a third party or vendor. Manages multiple functions requiring unique sets of knowledge or has significant fiscal accountability over and above routine people/equipment costs. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; strong analytical, organizational ability & PC skills required.
1 year in a leadership role in addition to 2 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
3 years previous management experience in addition to 2-3 years claims experience.
