Under the supervision of the Outpatient Pharmacy Administrative Director, and according to department policies, and procedures, and guidelines, is responsible for the compounding and dispensing of prescribed pharmaceuticals. The Outpatient Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the retail pharmacy including; management of staff, dispensing medications, ensuring compliance of laws and regulations and maintaining quality improvement initiatives that are consistent with Boston Medical Centers standards.
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy. Advanced degree (e.g. PharmD, M.S. or MBA) preferred.
Licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of Massachusetts.
Minimum of five years related experience. Prevoius supervisory experience preferred.
QS1 experience preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of the procedures, systems, and equipment used by pharmacists and technicians in the pharmacy as well as a high level of proficiency in performing pharmacist's duties and responsibilities.
High level of analytical ability, organizational and personal management skill and focus to ensure the concerted approach to operations.
Must also be able to evaluate current pharmacy services and procedures to improve them through an evaluative process.
Must be able to effectively communicate and display leadership within and outside of the department.
Practice experience working with as well as revising and/or implementing information systems.
Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
Proficient with standard software used in healthcare office setting (i.e. MS Word, Excel, web browser, etc).
