The Manager Palliative care is responsible for the management of palliative care and hospice services across the care continuum. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements. The Palliative Care Manager will supervise the other disciplines assigned to the Palliative Care Program and work collaboratively with the Palliative Care Medical Director to assure highest quality patient care. The manager will develop policies, procedures, and standards of care for the Palliative Care Program, participate on assigned committees and task forces, facilitate group meetings involving patients, family, and staff as needed, provide effective conflict resolution between patients, families and staff as needed, and communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. The manager is the leader of the department and has the ability to create and empower teams to embrace and implement change that will improve the clinical, operational, and financial performance.

QUALIFICATIONS Three (3) years progressive clinical leadership and ability to demonstrate competency in management skills. Palliative Care training and experience. Practice as a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner managing medical surgical and oncology populations within the last two years required. Masters’ degree in Nursing required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and certification as a Nurse Practitioner in California. Valid California Furnishing number and DEA certificate. Current BLS certification required. Valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. facilitative leadership skills. Ability to work cooperatively/collaboratively as part of a team, developing productive working relationships with diverse groups of people.
