Overview:

Top-level technical contributor with extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of reporting, business intelligence, dashboards and related hardware/software specializing in SAP BusinessObjects and Microsoft SSRS.

Working manager with the ability to supplement the advanced skill set of the reporting staff during periods of heavy workload and/or approaching deadlines. Responsible for managing, scheduling and directing the activities of the Enterprise Reporting group personnel.

This position oversees the implementation of the enterprise-wide reporting strategy including planning, design, installation, maintenance, and coordination of resources and reports.

Responsibilities:

Operational Functions

Oversees functionality and availability of all reporting solutions and related components.

Manages processes within the Enterprise Reporting group including development lifecycle functions, interface development and maintenance, system configuration changes and access, recurring reporting and communication, quality assurance testing, etc.

Ensures turnover documentation for IT support and customers, including instructions for computer operations, is provided accurately, completely and in a timely manner.

Manages documentation of data flow diagrams and metadata catalog.

Strives to achieve maximum uptime and reliability of reporting systems and data.

License Management

Ensures appropriate maintenance contract coverage for all required software.

Performs assessments of software levels and compatibility and maintains perpetual reporting hardware/software inventories.

Auditing and Standards

Develops, coordinates and/or directs the implementation of standardized reporting strategies, technologies and processes throughout the enterprise which optimize the cost effectiveness and reliability of resources.

Ensure deliverables are complete and approved prior to migration into production.

Ensures new technology product deployments demonstrate appropriate security controls to meet compliance requirements.

Invokes and reviews system(s) controls and security procedures and policies.

User Support

Ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.

Ensures support for around-the-clock information transfer, storage, and processing is timely, efficient and meets the service levels required. Monitors/prioritizes and ensures timely/accurate resolution to customer support and report requests.

Provides proactive communication with the customer (user) community.

Performance Management

Assesses training needs and assists team members in selecting training tools and/or classes.

Creates and implements team performance metrics.

Completes/presents performance reviews to assess employees' skill sets, provide feedback on progress, and identify goals.

Performance management personnel including corrective action, mentoring, development plans and performance improvement plans.

Mentors staff to overcome limitations and achieve maximum potential.

Personnel Management

Coordinates activities to maximize the efficiency of all processes.

Assigns/distributes resources for perpetual task and specific project needs.

Monitors progression on tasks to meet deadlines.

Enforces compliance with all policies and procedures.

Ensures coverage for out of office.

Project Management

Assigns/distributes reporting resources for project needs.

Leads and contributes to team dynamic providing expertise and ongoing communication to aid in team success.

Reviews status reports of team members across projects and addresses issues as appropriate.

Strategy and Planning

Contributes to and supports strategy for real-time reporting from company business systems.

Establishes schedules for reporting hardware/software refresh/upgrades. Identifies and communicates future upgrade needs to optimize performance of enterprise reporting environment.

Implement system improvements within the IT department in order to transition to newer tools, automate manual tasks, rework inefficient or outdated processes to eliminate waste and transition towards paperless activities.

Provide analysis and research on Business Objects and other Business Intelligence tools.

Attends internal/external meetings and conferences as appropriate and documents/reports back information.

Works with Director on budget forecasts and preparation.

Shares lessons learned and best practices.

Qualifications:

- 7+ years in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects BI tools including Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Dashboards / Xcelsius, and Data Services / Data Integrator.

- Experience with SQL Server, SSRS, ETL and Database design management preferred.

- Knowledge/ability to supplement skill set of reporting staff.

- Project management skills and experience.

- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.

- Demonstrated ability of analytical reasoning.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop report writing staff members.

- Excellent organizational skills.
