As part of the Human Resources Department, your primary role will be to provide human resources support for the Harris Beach offices in NYC, White Plains and Uniondale and contribute toward firm wide projects and other assignments as needed.

  • Supervision of non-exempt and exempt Human Resources related aspects of staff and coordinating with office management
  • Oversee workflow processes and identify and address process improvements including staffing coverage issues
  • Assist with employee relations by identifying improvement opportunities, addressing staff concerns and facilitating resolutions
  • Assist with staff development, training programs and policy development
  • Coordinate the paralegal and staff annual evaluation process
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews for staff and associate positions
  • Coordinate reference and conflicts checks for potential new hires
  • Coordinate onboarding process for new employees
  • Review of timecard entries
  • Coordinate standard new hire orientation process as well as the exiting process
  • Coordinate various staff meetings throughout the year
  • Provide weekly updates at all HR meetings
  • Involvement with internal investigations as appropriate
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal, state, and local laws/regulations impacting the work environment
  • He/she will be an integral part of the HR team working on projects and coordinating their efforts to ensure the HR needs and Business needs are met
  • Required to do all of the essential paperwork to carry out functions of the position
  • Manage transit subsidy program
  • Salary benchmarking and recommendations
  • Help resolve healthcare insurance or other employee related services challenges
  • Participate in ongoing HR training initiatives
  • Coordinate with other managers/directors on various program and initiatives for the firm
  • 3+ years of progressive office management and human resources experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Human Resources or equivalent experience required
  • Advanced PC skills -- Word, Excel, HRIS knowledge a plus
  • Must be able to frequently travel to other office locations
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply the principles of continuous improvement and performance management
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
  • Military experience a plus
