POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising restaurant staff in the day to day operation of the station and restaurant under the direction of the general manager and strives to maximize guest satisfaction, employee performance and retention and business financial results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Motivates, encourages, directs, trains and disciplines staff members.

Assigns, monitors, and verifies the completion of routine and assigned tasks.

Serves and assists guests, handles guest complaints, adjusts orders if necessary and establishes guest identity for the purpose of future solicitation. Refers to management items outside of scope.

Monitors, troubleshoots, documents and repairs cash register operating system(s).

Maintains and supervises the accurate and timely completion of logs and reports.

Oversees cash drawer activities including till sign outs and till drops within published procedural guidelines.

Serves as liaison between employee and restaurant manager with respect to personnel and scheduling matters.

Seeks to expand or contract staff based on business volume and/or performance.

Evaluates workflow for efficiency, makes recommendations for change and acts on approved changes.

Assists Restaurant Manager with employee performance appraisals.

Assists with interview process and makes recommendations to Restaurant Manager.

Assists with ordering supplies and merchandise. Performs accurate inventory counts of small wares, equipment and food on hand.

Performs staff tasks (i.e. bussing, serving, cashiering) as required by business volume and scheduling.

Assists with evaluation of new products/vendors to be sold as retail merchandise.

Attends and contributes to internal meetings as requested.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.

3-5 years experience in supervision preferred (ideally in restaurant and/or travel center/mini market/retail gasoline station).

Must be computer literate and able to use various computers software programs including, but not limited to Windows, Word and Excel.

Must be able to learn various travel center specific business operating systems including Menu Soft (Digital Diner), CCISTech, and StoreChek.

Must have ability to meet deadlines.

Must have ability to multi-task.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Current Food Handler Certificate or SerSafe Certificate required.

Current OLCC License required.

Must obtain propane certification.

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
