Under the direction of the Chief, Application Analysis, Development & Support: Responsible for the day to day management of a team of Data Modelers and Data Reporting Analysts; directs and assists assigned staff in the best practice of database management and access methods supporting MVP s corporate strategic business goals. In conjunction with the Data Governance Group, develops implements and enforces standards regarding data quality, data management and data policies to align with MVP s strategic priorities and is a key contributor to the continual improvement of IT service and quality regarding data. Partners with business units for all activities and holds responsibility for the management of expectations, deliverables and ultimate success of the data reporting and data modeling teams efforts. Manages staff in defining work schedules, duties and objectives and is responsible for team s career development and appraisals; mentors and builds a results-oriented, effective team. Position performs a combination of responsibilities which includes staff management, resource management, policy oversight and enforcement and strategic leadership. Individual will travel between offices as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Minimum Experience:
10 years or progressive, related IT experience. Minimum of 5 years IT management experience. Experience working with database administration, data modeling and data development. Experience with implementing, upgrading and maintaining reporting tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, etc. Experience with data modeling tools such as CA Erwin
Experience migrating from Business Objects to Cognos helpful.
Experience with a corporate Data Governance group highly desired
Changepoint/Project Portfolio Management application experience for resource capacity/demand management preferred. Required Skills: Demonstrated leadership experience in fast paced high volume, highly available, operations oriented IT environment with ability to assess business needs, maintain systems, and execute operational goals. Demonstrated ability to manage/mentor senior and junior team members and guide daily operations of High-Performance team. Demonstrated experience managing timely project delivery to high degree of success. Excellent writing and communication skills, demonstrated ability to create project plans, comprehensive technology analysis documents, instruction sheets, and systems documentation for completed systems. Proactive communicator with all levels of staff & management with ability to maintain open communication with others. Strong ability to facilitate small/ large group meetings and interact with all levels of business, technical and end users. Self-motivated and directed exceptional customer service orientation and dedication to meeting deadlines. Excellent organization, time management and analytical skills. Strong leadership and conflict management skills. Ability to motivate people to perform against defined objectives and to embrace accountability for their performance. Ability to lead change through people, process and technology. Ability to use and teach the use of problem solving tools
