Reporting to the Senior Research Scholar/Director of the Earth Institute's Agriculture and Food Security Center (AgCenter), the incumbent will be responsible for providing managerial support to the Director with the development, analysis, and monitoring of all administrative activities and initiatives. The incumbent will work in support and in conjunction with all AgCenter, MVP and MDG Center staff and those of other EI centers and programs regarding a wide range of administrative and financial responsibilities. Serving as the senior administrative professional of the TropAg worldwide, the incumbent has managerial oversight, provides strategic leadership, and assists in directing the organizational and logistical planning and execution of all AgCenter functions. In conjunction with the Director, the incumbent is responsible for providing long-range policy planning and recommending areas of growth and development relative to all AgCenter events and programs. The incumbent will plan, raise funds, develop work plans, budgets, oversee implementation, and allocate resources on behalf of Agriculture and Food Security Center projects. He/she will represent the Director at various meetings and functions as requested and perform additional duties as requested by the Director.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum 3-5 years' related experience.

Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, as well as writing, interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills. Must be able to function independently and to exercise discretion and judgment in sensitive and potentially controversial matters. Must have excellent organizational skills, a sense of urgency and be extremely detail-oriented. Broad computer skills required, including word-processing and databases.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree (MPA or Master's degree in environmental science and policy, or related area) or advanced degree is highly desired.
