Primary responsibility for planning, design, implementation, support and maintenance of LAN/WAN infrastructure and On-Air on-air video broadcast networks for the NBC Sports Group.
Work closely with Sports and OT&S network engineering to develop and manage strategic, diverse, cost effective connectivity solutions and standards for all NBC Sports Group domestic & international events and facilities.
Develop emerging technology concepts into innovative solutions that add value to the business.
Maintain detailed architecture documentation and analyze usage metrics for the long-term forecasting of NBC Sports Group bandwidth allocations and circuit utilization.
Manage connectivity costs, capital planning and purchasing for all NBC Sports Group networking hardware and software.
Manage the documentation and administer needs of a large LAN/WAN infrastructure:
Manage IP address block allocation and documentation
Troubleshoot access and communication issues in a variety of environments
Analyze network traces to proactively identify root cause of performance issues and implement corrective actions
Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers
Investigate new access methods and network technologies
Design and support network security at the WAN edge
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical experience.
Seven (7)+ years of hands-on experience as a network/systems engineer in a large, diverse broadcast environment.
Excellent project management, communication and interpersonal skills
Self-starter that demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Experience implementing and supporting high speed WAN networks (SONET, DWDM, point-to-point, OC12, OC48, OC192, Gigabit and 10 Gig circuits)

Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification
Cisco Nexus and NX-OS experience
Voice Over IP
Experience with secondary WAN technology, such as optimization (Internap) or acceleration (Procast, Bluecoat, Riverbed)
Understanding of QoS, VRF and VRF lite
Firewall experience (Checkpoint, PIX, ASA) a plus
IPv6 implementation and support
Able to quickly learn a broad array of technologies and apply knowledge to real-world problems; effective under aggressive timelines and high pressure situations.
