The manufacturing engineer is the first person responsible for the timely setup and development of replacement parts, while also challenging the various manufacturing and company processes that are holding Weber back from being a world class service organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned
Ensure that replacement part processes represent the most competitive cost alternative
Implement Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement strategies within Manufacturing Operations to improve efficiencies and reduce cost.
Develop, justify, and support strategic capital projects.
Drive outside organizations to meet project goals and objectives.
Ensures effective development of product cost structures and standards.
Provides oversight for the successful introduction of new products into Operations through concurrent engineering of new manufacturing technologies and methods.
Maintains Engineering performance metrics to identify opportunities for measurable improvements. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
1-3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience preferably in an appliance industry.
Experience with Microsoft office, and AutoCad.
Experience and understanding of MRP systems a plus. Other Qualifications
Working Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma principles is required as well as direct experience with facility layout and process design,
The candidate should have knowledge of packaging and shipping processes.
Ability to communicate at all levels from the shop floor to Executive level in order to justify strategies and implement them effectively.
Is an effective problem solver, with ability to utilize analytical techniques to resolve conceptual issues.
Is able to make a paradigm shift in approach to developing creative solutions that will result in technology that can provide a technological edge over competition.
