PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Develop new product tooling, interface with focus core teams, product engineering, and plant manufacturing personnel. Design, and implement process equipment into manufacturing facilities around the world.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the product designers to implement and debug new manufacturing processes.
Design and build process tooling including insert molds, arbor press tooling, soldering and welding.
Develop prototype components, assemblies and tooling.
Debug/troubleshoot tooling and equipment..
Coordinate all tooling changeovers, setups and repairs for manufacturing.
Understand, support, and contribute to Molex TQM and Quality / Environmental Management Systems by following approved policies and procedures
Other duties as required.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION
Required: B.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Preferred: Solid background in tool and die making or Equipment design.
WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Must have 3 to 5 years experience in an assembly environment.
Must have at least 2 years 3-D Modeling CAD design experience.
Hands on tool room experience.
Experience in troubleshooting of equipment.
Working knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, SPC, TQM, and experience necessary.
Working knowledge of insert and injection molding process
SKILLS
Required:
Understanding of mold tooling and process tooling used in electronic assembly
