Under minimal supervision, this position directs the manufacturing process of assigned parts to ensure they meet established specifications. In addition, ensures customer requirements are achieved and that parts are manufactured in a cost effective and timely manner.
Essential qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/mechanical engineering or a related field and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Experience with CAD/CAM systems utilizing solid modeling, proficient PC Skills in a Windows environment, and the ability to travel, including air, occasionally overnight required.
The most qualified candidate will also possess experience developing CNC programs, experience with special processes (i.e., plating, welding, heat treat, etc.), and knowledge and/or experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex parts. Previous experience in the machining industry, job shop machining preferred, experience conducting process capability studies, and experience optimizing processes to achieve ongoing cost reductions also desired. Experience with ISO quality systems and World Class Manufacturing principles, demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, ability to perform engineering calculations related to machining, ability to determine the nature of problems in processes, and experience with ERP systems a plus.
