We are currently seeking individuals that are interested in joining our Generics business, Qualitest, in Huntsville, AL as a Manufacturing Operator on our 1st Shift, Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

  • Introduction
Learns and performs basic functions relating to the processing of drug products; consistent with established Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), customer requirements and in conjunction with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of their job duties, while ensuring product compliance to established standards.

  • Key Processes:
o Learn and execute Batch Production Record (BPR) and logbook documentation with detail and accuracy as it applies to job function in real time.

o Learn and execute procedures used to clean pharmaceutical production equipment and facilities as it applies to job function.

o Learn and execute required in-process quality checks and documents accurately in real time.

o Learn and demonstrate behaviors related to safety first, quality second, and production third.

o Learn, execute and operate job related machinery and procedures properly

o Learn, document and demonstrate necessary security procedures for controlled substances in real time.

o Follow and adhere to all cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandates, SOP’s and quality requirements.

o Carries out processing/department activities as required on a daily basis.

o Identify and communicate processing related issues to the Production Supervisor.

o Work in collaboration with colleagues from the same and other departments such as quality, maintenance, and the laboratory.

  • Essential Requirements/Qualifications
All candidates must possess and demonstrate the following qualifications or skills:

o Ability to learn and practice FDA and DEA regulations as they pertain to the job function.

o Comfort with asking questions and investigating answers to seek understanding or make decisions.

o A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and observation skills.

o Ability to switch tasks and adapt to change effectively.

o Effective listening skills.

o Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.

o Mathematical aptitude in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, percentages, ranges and conversions.

o Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and the operating principles of control systems.

o Comprehension of the English language in reading and writing.

o Ability to work in a highly repetitive, fast moving environment.

o High school diploma or GED.

  • Conditions
Manufacturing operators work a variety of shift patterns. Based on the shift you are hired into, you may work eight (8) hour shifts in a five (5)-days a week or twelve (12) hour shifts in a two (2)-day on, two (2)-day off rotation. Weekend work and overtime is often an expectation. Full training is provided at the time of hire and is on-going for the career of the employee.

The work takes place in a clean manufacturing setting where personal protective equipment must be worn, including but not limited to steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses, secondary and primary uniforms, respirators and gloves. Facial hair must be limited in order to allow respirators to seal on the face for safety purposes. Jewelry, beverages and food items are prohibited in work areas. The work is physical, requiring standing on hard floors, walking, bending and lifting 10-40 lbs. regularly and 70lbs occasionally depending on job function.
