Position Summary: The Market Development Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the marketing of the organization’s service, while establishing and maintaining customer partner relationships and achieving financial objectives. Responsible for marketing and sales strategies to develop and expand the reputation of Rural/Metro within the health care industry. Reports to DGM and works to establish goals to support the local plan.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: Marketing • Acts as an active participant in the development of new business within the division, including the negotiation and implementation of new contracts. • Actively participates in the bid process for new contracts, including identifying new contracts coming out for bid • Establishes marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of services. • Builds and maintains relationships with client facility personnel. • Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and service packaging and formulation to ensure efficacy and the timely adjustment of marketing strategy. • Implements plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions. • Regularly attends client sponsored events to promote the Rural/Metro name and show support for client facilities in the market. • Coordinates, tracks and coaches the marketing efforts of Healthcare Account Executives. • Sets marketing goals and monitors and reports results against goals to maintain accountability of profitability of specific market contracts within the division. • Oversees service delivery within the division and monitors the financial outcome of market contracts. Administrative • Conducts marketing surveys on current and new service concepts. • Assists in identifying operational needs and creates facility action plans to improve operational and education levels. • Develops and maintains a marketing database to produce regularly scheduled reports to guarantee accurate compilation of data. • Creates, monitors, develops and supports cross-functional teamwork designed to produce optimal solutions to the Rural/Metro clients and customers. • Establishes and maintains a professional and proactive rapport with all appropriate managers, local vendors, governmental agencies/contacts and employees to accomplish regional and corporate objectives. • Meets with the Management Team on a regular basis to review major activities, issues, and progress toward objectives. • Demonstrates the ability to effective communicate marketing campaigns and market development endeavors to management and other employees of Rural/Metro. Customer Service • Effectively handles customer inquiries/complaints and maintains positive relationships with contracted client facilities. • Maintain positive communication with all agencies and customers (both internal and external) served by the communications center. • Interacts with the Clinical department to ensure our emergency medical providers are maintaining the high degree of quality care • Interface with employees from all areas of the company to identify potential marketing opportunities and report these to the Division General Manager with recommended action. Training • Participate in all required training sessions, including, but not limited to any mandatory Company training. • Attend and participate in all required meetings, continuing education sessions, or other required attendance programs. Compliance • Complies and enforces all policies and procedures. • Ensures and inspects paperwork for accuracy and compliance. • Responsible for escalating concerns regarding questionable paperwork to appropriate management. • Has successfully completed all required Compliance Training within the required time period. • Has had no compliance related corrective action during the current review period. Additional Duties: • Perform other duties as directed. Other duties may be assigned that are specific to the local operation. • Assist with the completion of appropriate forms and reports that are not considered essential functions. • Designate a replacement when appropriate. • Inventory and request needed supplies to perform department tasks. • Remain informed of relevant economic conditions and situations and recommend to the Division General Manager any adjustments.

Multi-County responsibilities for identifying key business targets.

Development of inclusive database of acute care, skilled nursing, sub-acute facilities, MD offices,

Surgery and Dialysis Centers, Flight Programs that could be business partners, etc.

Develop strategies to gain market share and prioritize the customers to engage.

Identify groups of facilities owned or run by an organization that would allow for securing multi-facility agreements.

Qualifications:
Qualifications: • Minimum 3 years experience in management, preferably in the area of healthcare operations, contract services, and/or customer services. • Customer service in a healthcare provider setting is required. • Excellent leadership and management skills. • Excellent internal and external customer service. • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office. Education Requirements: • High School diploma or GED required. • Preference to BS/BA degree in Marketing or equivalent experience.
