DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of an integrated marketing plan that generates sales opportunities and sales growth in support of the material characterization (TA/FP) product lines.

DUTIES

  • Provide necessary marketing leadership and direction to achieve defined business results.
  • Annual development and ongoing execution of an effective Integrated Marketing Plan for the Analytical Instrument product portfolio.
  • Develops, prioritizes and implements targeted and effective marketing initiatives to create new sales opportunities to grow organic sales.
  • Define and execute the necessary marketing communication activities required to support business area strategies.
  • Provide cohesive direction to the producing organizations to support the domestic US market in marketing strategies, product positioning and new product development.
  • Provide marketing support for key account sales strategies.
  • Provide industry and market analysis when required to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Provide professional proactive communications (sales communiques, bulletins, product demonstrations, sales demonstrations, sales and service training) on an as required basis.
  • Conduct market/industry research and analysis to identify market/industry trends, potential and forecasting. Gather, evaluate and present competitive sales and marketing strategies.
  • Support, develop, and improve market segmentation efforts and utilize database marketing, internet marketing, print ads and additional media to achieve business goals.
  • Write project plans and justifications (for direct marketing activities etc.) as required ensuring maximum ROI.
  • Travel in the field on a regular basis visiting customers to gain a better understanding of markets, products and field sales needs and requirements.
  • Establish pricing, discount structures, and product positioning for products and services.
  • Works with sales to develop key account and value added programs to differentiate our organization and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Work with logistics group to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS.) in Marketing, Communications, Business or Sciences is required. A Masters Degree in Marketing or Business Administration is preferred. Prior marketing experience is preferred. Experience in the thermal analysis industry is helpful although not mandatory. Strong business acumen and an operational background are advantageous. Ability to offer ideas and make suggestions; work in a team environment as well as working alone to solve problems; stay focused while performing multiple tasks; adapt to changing environments; confront and overcome challenges; and be customer focused. *Provide necessary marketing leadership and direction to achieve defined business results.
