This position is located in Serra Mesa.
8-hour shift: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, weekends as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor's degree with focus in marketing, communications, public relations, or equivalent work experience.
- At least two to three years’ experience in marketing communications within an agency and/or large regional organization encompassing multiple communications disciplines, including media relations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer) with the ability to learn new software products.
This position is responsible for assisting the Marketing and Communications Director in the planning and implementation of integrated marketing and communications initiatives in support of the organization's business and marketing goals. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) production of marketing collateral for entity and service lines; 2) implementation of media relations; 3) implementation of special events, community events and other outreach activities for the hospitals of the Sharp Metropolitan Medical Campus, including Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital and Sharp McDonald Center; 4) writing for various internal and external communications vehicles, including press releases, newsletters, employee publications, and Web site digital marketing; 5) project tracking and coordination.
The Sharp Metropolitan Medical Campus Marketing Team, made up of 5 team members, supports marketing and communications efforts for the campus entities including Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, Sharp Vista Pacifica Hospital, Sharp Home Care and the Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion. The entity marketing team collaborates with systemwide teams such as creative services, advertising, public relations and digital marketing to coordinate projects in support of campus initiatives.
