This is an entry level marketing position, working with the Marketing & Promotion Specialist in the implementation of athletic ticket sales and other marketing activities. Strict adherence to established NCAA , Southland Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination.
Examples of work performed:
A1. Assist with season and individual game ticket sales and promotions, including placing ticket sales and event information throughout the community and working with local businesses to help promote Lamar Athletics through cross-promotions.
A2. Assist in game management duties, including assisting with in-game activities and promotions for all ticketed sports.
A3. Other activities as assigned by the Marketing & Promotions Specialist or the Assistant Athletic Director for Development.
A4. Attend and participate at University, Alumni, Athletic, and other appropriate public relations events both on and off campus in order to enhance the development program of the Athletic Department.
A5. Look for creative ways to improve and enhance all marketing strategies for the athletic department, from in-game promotions to ticket promotions to special events to advertising opportunities.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
This position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Development in cooperation with the Marketing & Promotions Specialist.
No previous experience required.
High School Diploma Required.
Incumbent must possess good written and verbal skills.
Incumbent must be able to establish rapport with both internal and external constituencies.
Incumbent must be able to tolerate flexible work hours – weekends and nights.
