Our Search: Our search is focused on identifying an executive candidate who will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of consumer-driven strategies supporting our “Core Marketing Functions” which include Brand, Advertising, Sponsorships, and Strategy & Planning. This Marketing Director role will be responsible for developing & driving key strategies to support the growth of Humana’s business

Key Role Objective/Responsibilities
  • Maximize Humana’s brand across the broad range of current customers, creating strategies designed to increase member growth/retention, market share, revenue and profitability
  • Identify advertising and consumer buying trends; develop innovative marketing campaigns built on brand values which differentiate Humana

  • Drive the use of analytics to ensure best-in-class processes and outcomes-reporting for products, services, subscriptions and experiences across various channels
  • Develop partnership relationships with key vendors; challenge the creative process to align with the commitment to Live life fully and our holistic healthcare message
  • Develop and implement programs to assist the organization in using market research data to identifying new markets, re-develop existing products, differentiate products, and prepare business plans.
  • Work with internal regulatory team to ensure the development of marketing resources and communications is aligned with government contract compliance requirements and regulations, including print and broadcast media, direct marketing, co-marketing, sales materials, public relations, and newsletters
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Marketing, other marketing leaders, and business segment leaders in developing an integrated marketing effort for multiple products in diverse geographies
  • Encourage creative and critical thinking to seize new opportunities to better serve the customer; ensure marketing programs are innovative and “customer friendly”
  • Recruit, select and retain highly qualified professionals
  • Lead a motivated, productive and competent team of 25+ associates through open communication and delegation of responsibilities and authority. Guide and direct subordinates in their personal and professional development.

Qualifications
Our Ideal Candidate: Qualified candidates will bring 15 or more years of classic marketing experience to the role, demonstrating significant accomplishments in developing marketing strategies and new products within a consumer-driven service organization, combined with the use of analytics to assess return on investment.

Key Requirements

Role Essentials:
  • Proven ability to develop marketing campaigns including objectives, strategies and tactics designed to effectively and efficiently create awareness of new products and services among key stakeholders.
  • A keen business sense developed from P&L responsibility, combined with budgeting expertise
  • A highly developed analytical skills; gifted in the use of metrics and analytics
  • Prior success working closely with corporate functions in matrix relationships and aligning with Vice Presidents and their respective organizations.
  • Team orientation and ability to work with executives, managers, and staff in a collegial setting to achieve individual and mutual goals in a rapidly transforming organization.
  • Enthusiasm for working within marketing team associated with a highly competitive, ever-changing, market-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and an executive demeanor to interact effectively with internal and external organizational stakeholders on sensitive and/or complex topics.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, motivate, and manage people.
  • Bachelor’s required; MBA strongly desired
Reporting Relationships: You will report to the Vice President of Marketing. This area is under the leadership of the Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer.
