The Master Scheduler- Engines will lead the overall scheduling process, as well as perform S&OP coordination within the business. You will use proven leadership and change management skills to drive improvements in business performance related to engine and service level forecasting (volume and mix), Sales & Operations Planning, and Available to Promise (ATP) logic for Waukesha gas engines. This position will drive cross-functional business process improvements.
In addition, you will:
Evaluate specifications, customer requests, and factory capacity to specify lead time and estimated completion of incoming orders
Book and confirm scheduled dates for all engine orders
Create training material and document procedures as well as develop, implement & maintain appropriate processes to ensure a productive planning process and well-considered and implementable strategic plans to comply with new / existing business processes
Prepare as required (generally monthly) reporting to monitor Commercial Ops front log opportunities to backlog orders through the Quick Market Intelligence (QMI) program
Monitor the service parts forecast to ensure MAPE and Bias tolerances are in line with expectations
Research situations and obtain input from others to ensure fact-based, statistically relevant forecast is driven through in the business system
Typical activities: Backlog to planned levels, $$ forecast conversion to units of capacity / people-hours, cross-functional meeting facilitation, order plant selection, plant capabilities summary, and leadership without direct reports
Apply in-depth financial knowledge, expertise and analytical skills to model potential solutions sets to issues related to the Business
Act as business resource to assist in the resolution of companywide inquiries and problems
Monitor Customer service metrics and analyze performance gaps related to on-time to promise
Serve as a technical resource for Master Schedule and capacity related issues and problem solution alternatives
Work with Commercial Ops team, Sales and Engineering to plan / coordinate the monthly Demand Planning Review process to establish a credible monthly Demand Plan at the product line level with mix (options) assumptions
Work with the Product Line MRP Planners to plan / coordinate the monthly Supply planning review process to establish appropriate capacity levels and the overall Supply Plan
Quantify available capacity vs. load at a Global level and make capacity level change recommendations
Coordinate and Facilitate the Executive Sales & Operations Process; identifying gaps in Supply and Demand to establish a single consensus forecast
Manage Aggregation and Disaggregation of the Sales & Operations Planning (Production Plan) output for the purposes of developing and managing Detailed component inventory forecasting
Manage Planning BOM demand and accuracy with the ECO group to drive priority materials and ensure visibility of components to minimize Customer Lead Time and overall working capital investment
Coordinate the balanced priority process to ensure optimal performance is achieved between OE Engine and aftermarket partners
Establish a benchmark Customer lead time index, by Global family
Bachelor's degree from accredited college / university
Minimum of 3 years of experience in management role in manufacturing environment

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, operations management
MBA or advanced degree in engineering, operations management
Proficient in MS programs, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
Proficient in Oracle
APICS certification; CPIM/CSCP
Experience in discreet, job shop and/or flow manufacturing environment
Ability to effectively make decisions with limited time and information –can determine decision making criteria based on priorities
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources
Strong analytical capabilities, with a deep understanding of financial modeling and statistical analysis techniques
Strong interpersonal skills, independent problem resolution, proven leadership ability necessary to be effective across functions and levels, and the ability to manage the requirement of others not directly supervised
