Sierra Nevada Corporation's Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) business unit in Centennial, CO is continuing to grow and needs your help. SNC provides airborne ISR capability to the Department of Defense as well as other government agencies and international customers.
The Material Planning Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning, procurement, and tracking of program material. Works with the Material Planners to assist in implementing the program including creating PRs per the Material Planner’s material plan and creating work orders within the Material Management System. Works closely with the Material Planner to establish material critical paths using the production schedule and scheduled material deliveries ensuring material is available to support the production schedule. Assists with planning, scheduling and managing the efficient movement of material from receiving, through the warehouse to production. Understands and is able to react to ECOs/ECNs from a material standpoint, making changes in the Material Management System to support the design. Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules; assists in planning and managing material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production; and is capable of material planning smaller programs efficiently. May negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Assisting Material Planners in developing and maintaining a detailed program status that concentrates on defining critical path items
Creating the manufacturing orders (MOs) in the Material Management System based on the planned schedule provided by Production Control and the BOM configuration required to support the program ‘Make/Buy’ determination
Can assist with fully planning all work orders and material requirements during the production start-up phase of the program
Prepares the purchase requisitions and time- phased release of requirements to obtain materials, tools and equipment to support the production schedule
Works with program team members to address problems, providing scheduling alternatives and workarounds including rework schedules
Ensures all material is on-hand to support the productions schedule and highlights material shortages or delivery dates that do not support the production schedule as critical path items
Inputs and maintains Engineering Parts Lists in Materials Management System
Validates all required program parts lists in Materials Management System at the start-up phase to ensure agreement with released engineering data
Reviews ECOs/ECNs to determine the correct material status for the drawing changes
Implements any procurement changes required as part of the ECO/ECN
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by management
Makes recommendations regarding Excess & Obsolete materials including analyzing and initiating steps to minimize financial and/or operations impact of carrying excess, obsolete, and/or expired materials
Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours

Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness are essential.
Proficient in the practical application of MRP logic, scheduling logic, order policies and modifiers, product structures, routings, and shop floor control.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external customers and other SNC divisions.
Computer proficiency in MS Excel or MS Access is required
Experience in MS Project, MS PowerPoint and Visio
Understanding of how material flows in an ERP system in a Government Programs environment
Excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal and decision-making skills

Strong organizational skills
Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
