Prepares orders and expedites shipments. Purchases materials and supplies from vendors. Serves as primary information resource for departments on supplies and equipment. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation. Responsible for all returns.

To effectively fulfill the requirements of this position a candidate must have high school or equivalent; basic college courses preferred. Previous experience as a buyer, especially in a hospital setting preferred. Course/training in business or marketing preferred. Administrative skills to include compiling statistics, composing letters or memorandums, coordinating meetings, entering data into computer programs, maintaining filing systems, researching information, using computerized spreadsheets to conduct analysis. Machine skills to include: CRT, CRT (mainframe). Preferred knowledge of ESI and Microsoft Office.
