Responsibilities /Responsabilités:
Observes mechanical devices in operations and listens to their sounds to locate sources of trouble. Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, reassemble equipment. Perform routine maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly. Assemble, install and/or repair wiring electrical and electronic components, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, schematics, and parts catalogues as necessary. Inspect parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments/devices. Lubricates and cleans parts, gears, and bearings. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices and machinery. Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines. Repairs electrical, pneumatic, and electronic devices, parts, equipment as needed. Programs PLC's as required.
Qualifications / Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years hands on experience in automated, high volume production environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Should be familiar with automated conveyors, packaging and labeling equipment. Must be able to perform welding, as required.
Must understand parts organization and ordering of it. Requires ability to fabricate parts, as required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, electrical/mechanical drawings, MSDSs and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
