Mechanic I - Food Services - DEN

Salary $14.83 hr

Please note that this position will be hired under the subsidiary Continental Airlines collective bargaining agreement or divisional work rules until a joint agreement or combined divisional work rules are obtained.

Record meter reading and temperatures for electric, gas and water.

Perform monthly preventive maintenance on mechanical appliances and equipment.

Complete work orders assigned by Maintenance - Lead and/or manager.

Change chemical for Warewashing machine.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the department and kitchen.

Operate ice plant equipment and bag ice with supervision.

Blow down boiler and feed chemical.

Operate and maintain emergency generator and refuel.

Add salt to water softener equipment.

Operate company vehicles, forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, baler and other mechanical equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Valid US driver's license and current driving abstract.

High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent preferred.

Ability to read, speak and write English fluently.

Knowledge of basic math skills.

Ability to read and understand diagrams, schematic and blue prints.

Working knowledge in one or more of the following facility maintenance trades that include: refrigeration, electrical, air conditioning, plumbing, automotive mechanics, boiler repair or general building repair.

One-year work experience in one or more of the following facility maintenance trades that include: refrigeration, electrical, air conditioning, plumbing, automotive mechanics, boiler repair or general building repair.

Obtain a 10-year background for FAA security access.

Lifting and carrying equipment and chemicals.

Pushing and pulling mechanical equipment.

Continuous climbing over 20 feet.

Must be willing to work any shift in a 24/7 week, including weekends, nights and holidays.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
