Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. Perform technical assignments as defined by wiring diagrams and by mechanical and electrical schematics/drawings, with limited or no guidance.
Mechanical technical assignments include; installing pressure, flow, and tempurature sensors into aircraft air and fluid lines. Fabricate various types of pnuematic and hydraulic fittings. Fabricate custom brackets, fixtures, various hose types, and perform tube bending and flaring. Will also be responsible to perform various pnuematic and hydraulic calibration processes.
Manage Air Data Test Equipment for checking and calibrating Pitot/Static Systems.
Electrical technical assignments include; assembling data collection systems, harnesses and various other electronic sub-systems.
Review and analyze a variety of engineering data and procedures to determine job requirements for meeting specified goals.
Plan equipment needs including lab hardware and computer systems and fabricate mechanical and electronic units or devices as required.
Undertake off-site assignments as required.
Air Frame and Powerplant License required.
Associate's Degree in Mechanical or Electronics Technology required.
Bachelor (`9s Degree in either Mechanical or Electronics Engineering Technology is a plus.
Equivalent Military training and experience can be considered.
Background in mechanical and electronics fabrication and installation. Prefer individuals with intimate knowledge of and experience with AN, MS, Swage Lock, Pipe fittings, tube bending/flaring and hose manufacture as well as some exposure to assembling electronic sub-systems and harness building. Proficient in working with sheet metal. Must have experience soldering and be able to use a variety of mechanical and electronic lab tools (i.e., Druck calibration tools, tube benders, multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.).
Minimum of 5 years of experience, in the skill sets listed above, is required.
Periodic to moderate travel is required. Sikorsky operates two shifts and at times operates three shifts. This posting while for first shift may require periodic second and third shift work.
Position is located in West Palm Beach, FL.
