DESCRIPTION

Basic Function:
Responsible for the technical accuracy and completeness of all drafting, establishing documentation standards, storage requirements, and distribution procedures to insure long-term accessibility of design documents, and for ensuring that drafting project schedules are accomplished in a timely manner.

DUTIES

Must possess thorough and relevant product knowledge.
2.Must possess leadership capability - ability to understand the motives and objectives of the Department and communication/interpersonal skills to effectively carry out responsibilities and to develop and motivate others.
3.Position requires occasional exercise of decision making skills.
4.Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and to effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company is required.
5.Establishes drafting project schedules based on order volume. Modifies schedules as priorities dictate.
6.Assigns personnel to projects utilizing staff expertise in relation to project complexity.
7.Performs complex drafting tasks in preparing drawings of intricately designed parts and assemblies, and prepares several views.
8. Establishes the style and format of the drawings, including symbols, title blocks and graphic style.
9. Establishes and maintains systems for aperture card distribution, duplication and generation, historical records for EN's, parts master and engineering specifications.
10. Coordinates the activities of the ECCB which include: review, processing and related recordkeeping of engineering change requests, drawing change requests,
11.Makes arithmetic computation using standard formulas, calculates dimensions, allowances, and technical specifications.
12.Makes final drawings indicating dimension of parts, quantities of materials to be used, load capacities, etc.
13.Checks work of other drafters and assists them as need arises.
14.Recognizes needs for and performs simple computer design customization.
15.Initiates Engineering Notices when required and generates complete Bills of Materials.

Other Duties: Evaluates customer requests for special documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Required: Bachelors Degree

Experience Required: 10 years or more, experience in design and production of water purification systems preferred. AutoCAD, Solidworks experience required.

Physical Skill and Effort: Work requires skilled, accurate, rapid, and closely coordinated manual skill. Work requires a considerable variety of fairly steady active physical exertion.

Working Conditions and Hazards: Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions. From time to time, slightly disagreeable features. Negligible/little or no exposure.
