The primary duties of the Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager is to coordinate the work of the project mechanical design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project. Establishes meetings and participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Is responsible to coordinate workload to complete and deliver the document(s) on schedule. Conducts work sessions and inspections at project site as a Project Manager or in conjunction with other Project Managers and other disciplines. Works with the department|
's Senior Mechanical Engineer to manage workloads and staffing. Reviews mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines and coordinates with other disciplines. Writes/edits mechanical specifications, selects equipment, mechanical systems and devices. Coordinates and assists, with affected disciplines, with any addendum, requests for information, change proposal requests and change orders and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents. Bachelors/Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and P.E. are required. 10+ years experience with at least 5 years of experience as a project manager/task leader for mechanical system design of machinery such as movable bridge components. Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm as a Project Manager/Task Leader would be preferred.
