MEDPRO PRN FLOATSUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for admission of patients and assembly of medical record prior to surgery. Responsible for assisting in the performance of duties related to insurance follow up/collection and maintaining of accounts receivable.DEPARTMENT: ASC Business Office and Claims Research, MedProREPORTING RELATIONSHIP: ASC Business Office Supervisor and/or Claims Research Supervisor, MedProDRESS CODE: UniformMAJOR DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Obtain demographic information from Horizon Practice Plus and Amkai.2. Assemble medical record forms to be used on surgery date 2 days out.3. Ensure all financial paperwork is in chart prior to surgery date.4. Admit all patients using proper procedure.5. Collect any required deposits on day of surgery.6. Complete Patient Calculations for insurance benefits verification, maintaining 3 days from surgery date.7. Ability to work various carriers accurately and efficiently.8. Work insurance requests.9. Work correspondence.10. Respond to questions from billing staff related to insurance or account A/R activity in a courteous and professional manner.11. Ability to effectively communicate via claim notes per MedPro policy and procedure.12. Complete assigned projects within deadline.13. Demonstrate professional customer service skills.14. Confine gum chewing and eating to break areas; save personal conversations for break times; turn off non-work related cell phones. Interact with all patients, visitors, and co-workers in a professional and upbeat manner. Be courteous, respectful, friendly, and helpful.
