The Search Media Strategy Supervisor serves as one of the principal representatives for the agency and is responsible for managing the day-to-day client relationship. The Search Media Strategy Supervisor must assure that all of the clients’ needs are being met and proactively explore ways to further service and grow the relationship. Internally, the Search Media Strategy Supervisor ensures that agency resources and staff are managed efficiently and should provide an environment that fosters the development and ongoing learning of their junior staff. The Search Media Strategy Supervisor maintains the fiscal responsibility for all accounts under their stewardship. The person in this role provides strategic insights and should serve as a source of marketing/media expertise for their clients. As such, it is critical that the Media Strategy Supervisor remains current on market trends and identifies the implication of these on their clients’ business, enhancing their position as a key strategic marketing partner.

Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to the development, implementation and monitoring of search media plans
  • Providing strategic insights on assigned account(s)
  • Fostering client/partner/vendor relationships
  • Being immersed in the clients’ business in order to achieve the knowledge base necessary to become a key strategic marketing partner
  • Stewardship over the clients’ business, including reviewing media plans and other client communications before they are issued
  • Assuring that media campaigns deliver the clients’ objectives and diligently monitoring activity throughout the campaign to assure that we remain on track for delivering the goals. Proactively providing alternatives to the client in instances where campaign goals are not being met
  • Supervising the daily functions of the junior team members: offering training, feedback, and assistance when necessary
  • Facilitating the gathering and organizing of media rate and research information required to develop media strategies
  • Training, proofing work and answering questions of the junior team
  • Initiating and analyzing media research and data
  • Interacting with sales representatives in the evaluation of potential media vehicles
  • Participating in presenting during client/partner agency meetings/calls
  • Trouble-shooting and escalating issues in a proactive manner
  • Ensuring ATB (Authorization to Buy) forms are prepared in accordance to approved plans and distributes signed forms
  • Overseeing the necessary functions in Media system as required including inputting and issuing Estimate numbers, Goals, Insertion Orders, Purchase Orders, Change Orders, and maintaining cross-reference list
  • Ensuring media campaign manipulations are executed
  • Analyzing large data sets quickly and at granular levels; making strategic decisions for campaigns based on key performance indicators and trends
  • Writing and presenting results analyses and final campaign analyses for all media
  • Performing competitive analyses and presenting recommendations based on key findings
  • Working with client response data (where applicable) to determine recommendations
  • Remaining up-to-date on client/competition/agency/industry business through trade publications, newspaper articles, textbooks, literature, and other sources
  • Ultimately responsible for client billing process, from initial set up with accounting, to monthly invoicing to final reconciliation and collection of receivables
  • Ensuring and maintaining ID Media standards at every level of activity
  • Monitor and optimize search campaigns using Google Adwords and Microsoft Ad Center
  • Leverage Kenshoo, Marin Software, DART Search, etc to manage PPC campaigns
  • Utilizing site analytics (Google, Omniture, etc.) to inform campaign decisions
  • Use Dart systems to implement campaigns and pull reports
  • Strong understanding of media attribution and cross-channel analysis preferred

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years SEM experience
  • Demonstrated experience developing media plans/strategies
  • Knowledge of key internal processes (ex: billing/invoicing, trafficking, etc.)
  • Supervisory experience, training and working with junior staff
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships with clients/partner agencies/vendors
  • Experience using Media Systems (ex: MediaBank/Mediaocean, Donovan, CORE, Atlas, Dart)
  • Familiarity using syndicated research tools (ex: Nielsen, IMS, ComScore, Kantar/Stradegy)
  • Strong mathematical skills: comfortable with numbers and analyzing data
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proactive, with the ability to handle day-to-day tasks with minimal oversight
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting
  • Ability to multi-task while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to collaborate well with staff, clients, and vendors at all levels
  • A fire in the belly, with the desire to learn and grow and take on increasing responsibility
  • Google Certified Preferred
