The Global Medical Affairs Leader -- Diabetes is responsible for providing medical expertise and insight for optimisation of the diabetes portfolio brands and other metabolism compounds in various stages of clinical development.The incumbent will report to a Global Medical Affairs Therapy Area VP for Diabetes & Metabolism. |
Lead the strategic claims development and optimization of the brand by providing medical insights into the creation and execution of the global brand strategy. Lead the process of translation of the diabetes clinical data into meaningful communications for customers, and work with the key marketing companies and regions to deliver a global medical-marketing strategy that can be implemented locally to achieve success.
*Identify opportunities to maximise the technical and commercial differentiation of the brand and lead or influence, as appropriate, the actions needed to communicate these as substantiated product claims.
*Lead the process to deliver and develop Target Product Profiles and Target Product Claims that differentiate the brand for patients, payers and prescribers and enhance the competitive profile
*Act as a source of therapeutic area knowledge and competitive data including interpreting data and communicating implications.
*Provide commercial input into technical documentation including high level regulatory documents, labeling and global studies to ensure key product claims are supported and communicated appropriately.
*Use scientific interactions with key opinion leaders to ensure appropriate health care providers' input into product profiles and claims
*Lead identification and management of gKOL s who are engaged for their expertise in activities such as advisory boards, medical education, congress, symposia, publications
*Work collaboratively within the BMS Alliance to deliver as per the contract, working effectively with BMS Medical Team
*Provide scientific/medical/clinical knowledge to the development of the global brand strategy and positioning; working collaboratively with the global brand team and global clinical colleagues
* Lead the medical/scientific/clinical activities at congresses and scientific meetings and work with GBM on development and approval of promotional booth activities
* Serve as a resource for the brand team to connect with GMQA to resolve questions regarding approval of promotional materials created by the global brand team
*Responsible for general tasks of an administrative nature as required, including booking own travel, expense submissions, small meetings, and management of own calendar and inbox.
*Relevant scientific or medical background
*Healthcare experience (e.g. medicine or pharmacy)
*Broad understanding of drug development and pharmaceutical marketing and in-depth knowledge of one or more disease areas
*Working knowledge & experience of relevant legislation or codes of practice relating to promotional activities or demonstrates the ability to acquire knowledge rapidly (including ABPI code, AZ Policies)
*Experience within more than one part of the business such as: Discovery, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, or Commercial
*Proven good relationship building skills with HCP experts
*ideally an advanced education such as Medical degree, PhD or Masters degree in sciences
*Global Team experience and ability to lead and contribute to cross functional teams
*Previous exposure of development of Target Product Profiles/Target Product Claims
*Experienced in interpreting scientific data, critically assessing information, putting it into context, evaluate its commercial impact and communicate to the business
*Experienced in acquiring therapy area/product knowledge
