The Medical Assistant provides support to the patient care team under the supervision of the physician by performing those functions and procedures outlined in the departmental patient care guidelines for which competency has been demonstrated and Medical Center policies and procedures permit. Based on departmental requirements Medical Assistants may also provide clerical, reception and telephone support to the reception and records area of the practice.
BLS for Healthcare Provider is required within 6 months of hire. Technical training beyond high school; Medical Assistant program preferred. Up to 1 year of previous medical assistant experience preferred; Technical training beyond high school: graduate of a Medical Assistant program preferred
Other Special Skills – Preferred
Proficiency in a multiple computer applications. Ability to work independently, effective time management and problem solving skills, able to manage multiple priorities. Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. Must have confident and effective oral and written communication skills.
