Job Summary: This position requires a high level of responsibility for performing and coordinating a multitude of oncology-specific medical assistant duties and selected patient care activities under the supervision, direction, and guidance of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse. Assists the provider in the diagnosis, treatment, and/or surgical preparation of patients with cancer. Provides excellent support to the providers in attendance in accordance with the established standards and practices of an oncology practice setting
Job Requirements: The qualified Medical Assistant will be a high school graduate and have successfully completed an approved course as a Medical Assistant or other appropriate discipline or have appropriate prior work experience or educational background (i.e. anatomy, medical terminology). Additional education may be required in order to fulfill all job competency measurements. Individuals must successfully demonstrate all appropriate competency measurements in order to be retained in the position. Above average written and oral communication skills are required. Must professionally receive and follow instructions. Understands the unique role this position plays in our mission to cure and control cancer.
