To provide technical skills or diversified clerical duties associated with medical record procedures.

Department Marketing Statement

UTMB Health Center for Polar Medical Operations provides professional medical services related to diagnosis and treatment of United States Antarctic Program (USAP) participants. Medical Records Technicians in the Galveston Headquarters Office are responsible for managing confidential medical documentation and records related to the Physical Qualification (PQ) Screening process for all participants deploying to Antarctica under the USAP.

Specific Job Related Duties

Performs specialized technical skills or diversified clerical duties associated with medical record procedures

Processes requests for release of confidential information for purposes of treatment, payment and health operations

Analyzes data for completeness and accuracy

Accurately scans medical records within the given timeframe

Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure

Performs related duties as required
