Medical Science Liaison (Southeast Region)
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team is comprised of highly educated, clinically trained healthcare professionals whose focus is to help Health Care Professionals (HCPs) deliver the best care to their patients.
The team is responsible for establishing, fostering, cultivating and maintaining relationships with HCPs with the end goal of educating and providing information on the company products, developing and building relationships with both national and regional medical thought leaders, facilitating research endeavors, and educating HCPs.
This is a front line field position, critical to establishing and maintaining excellent educational and research collaborations with HCPs, thought leaders, investigators and key academic institutions to build outstanding product awareness and advocacy. The Southeast region includes all of Georgia and Florida.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to all company policies and procedures as well as all rules, laws and regulations that are applicable to the job duties and responsibilities Report all suspected or known violations of compliance per company policy and requirements
Facilitate and establish research opportunities between the company and research investigators
Engage in meaningful scientific discussions with the researcher, both about the disease state as well as the scientific evidence available
Present clinical information to healthcare professionals and organizations.
Support and facilitate medical communications and publications (e.g. abstracts, case studies/series, review articles, etc.) by acting as a liaison between investigators and Medical Affairs
Collaborate with internal medical research regarding field clinical issues
Keep current with published literature in the therapeutic area of specialization
Attend scientific/medical/professional meetings as required
Support roll-out of clinical studies
Study site follow-up proceeding investigator enrollment
Ongoing study support & education during routine visits
Response to unsolicited requests
Provide medical, scientific and technical expertise to ensure product awareness and understanding
Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with current and future national and regional opinion leaders and study investigators
Support the Risk Evaluation & Mitigation Strategy (REMS)
Assist the commercial team with their educational efforts, including participation as required
Expert level of knowledge of company products and related medical information
Ability to effectively communicate complex scientific information to a variety of audiences
Excellent verbal presentation and written skills
Ability to meet standards, timelines and work independently and possess the motivation to thrive in a field based position
Keep current with scientific literature in disease states and related fields where pharmaceuticals are approved as well as where indications might be possible
Ability to understand and critically evaluate scientific literature
Leads and contributes to a positive team environment
Travel expectations >75%
A Pharm.D., M.D., or Nursing Degree with extensive prior MSL experience.
A strong science/clinical background with a proven track record of educating HCPs on medications and disease states is strongly preferred.
A clear record of partnering with cross-functional teams.
