In this position you will operate ultrasound equipment and performs a variety of cardiovascular procedures to produce images for patient diagnosis for Internal Medicine Division of Cardiology. Performs diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist the physician to diagnose heart defects or the exact cause of impaired blood circulation. Explains the procedures to the patients. Assists in the operation of ultrasound equipment and records results. Adjusts parameters on equipment and reviews calibrations to assure that scans are reproducible under similar conditions.
- Performs basic maintenance on equipment to assure proper working conditions. Attends continuing education seminars to stay abreast of technological advances.
- Demonstrates the use of ultrasound equipment and techniques to assist with the education of students, nurses, residents, patients, and physicians. Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of four years experience in diagnostic ultrasound. Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
Certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), or a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
