Under general supervision, performs routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids which will aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of the treatment of diseases while maintaining the highest standards of medical technology. He/she must maintain the highest standards of any and all accrediting agencies. Performs related quality control and clerical work as required.

Degreed Medical Lab Technician or Technologist, MLT/ASCP, MT(ASCP) or other qualification recognized by Laboratory Certification Agencies (e.g. Medicare, JCAHO, CAP, etc).

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)
General 1 year clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical lab training.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Comprehensive knowledge of Hematology, Urinalysis, Blood bank, Chemistry, Microbiology and related sciences.
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to use independent judgement.
Ability to remain calm, to think and act quickly and logically in a crisis situation.
