Under the direction of the Manager of Transfusion Services, performs advanced all pretransfusion testing on patient samples and provides blood and blood products to transfusion recipients in a timely and accurate manner. We will rely on you to perform patient testing and quality control testing. You will interpret results and create laboratory reports. The ability to troubleshoot and be a technical resource is a must.
The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Clinical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology) and MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent. Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) is a plus. A working knowledge of immunohematology and immunology theory is required. Required skill sets include skill in the operation of laboratory equipment, strong detail orientation and analytical ability, and the ability to evaluate and ensure acuracy of data related to laboratory results and patient information.
