The Member Service Representative is responsible for handling daily transactions as requested by members in a timely, professional, and accurate manner. Transaction responsibilities include withdrawals, deposits, cash advances, loan payments, cashier checks, and stop payments. Member Service Representatives are responsible for their daily work, cash drawers, and completion of daily cash letters. Additional responsibilities include listening, identifying, and recommending credit union products and services that can help meet the needs of members.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Process all member transactions accurately and quickly, under frequent time pressure, while providing professional and superior service.
Be knowledgeable of all credit union products and services.
Adhere to all credit union policies and procedures requiring cash limits, approvals, identification, cash counting and other transaction policies as outlined.
Listen, identify and recommend credit union products and services to help meet member needs.
Handle all member problems and complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
Handle incoming phone calls from members and other departments to research errors and member issues.
Meet or exceed monthly goals as determined by supervisor.
Perform the following duties:
Balance ATM machine(s)
Access and interpret Teller Navigator/Commercial Integrator software without assistance
Facilitate the delivery of cashier checks and gift cards
Perform opening and closing procedures
Be responsive to member needs and keep supervisor notified of concerns or problems in a timely manner.
Abide by dress code policy as outlined in Employee Handbook.
Work effectively as a team member, participating actively and constructively. Display a professional manner in dealing with supervisors, coworkers, members, and others inside and outside the credit union.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience with cash handling and customer service; previous sales experience is preferred
High level of customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong problem solving skills
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office software)
Effective oral and written communication skills
