PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Nursing Director or registered nurse, is responsible for providing direct patient care to assigned patients on the Behavioral Health GERIATRICS Units.
JOB FUNCTONS include, but not limited to:
Provides therapeutically effective relationships with assigned patients incorporating developmental and age-related factors
Provides for a safe, comfortable environment and therapeutic milieu for the patients
Observes, records and reports to the registered nurse significant signs and symptoms exhibited by the patients
Conducts admission assessment interviews with patients, family members, attending physicians and treatment team
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Work or Bachelor’s degree in another field with a minimum of 2 years related work experience
Previous voluntary or paid experience in mental health is preferred
One year of inpatient psychiatric experience desired
Must be able to life 50 lbs.
