The Medical Records Manager manages, directs and coordinates the activities of Records Management (Release of Information (ROI) and Deficiency Management); Responsibilities include overall management of process and personnel. The Manager plans, assigns and directs the HIM release of information and deficiency management workflow; actively monitors employee performance and rewards or disciplines accordingly; addresses complaints and resolves problems; and actively oversees and manages production and quality control efforts.
- Education: Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Bachelor of Science with current RHIA credentials or Associate of Science with current. RHIT credentials
- Experience: Two years of management experience in a healthcare related field such as acute care hospital, QIO, Fiscal Intermediary, or CMS.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: RHIA or RHIT certification.

PC skills – demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required. Policies and Procedures – articulate knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures. Bachelor of Science with current RHIA credentials or Associate of Science with current RHIT credentials and systems. Project Management – assesses work activities and allocates resources appropriately. Coach, Mentor and Educate – provides timely guidance and feedback to help strengthen the knowledge/skill set of others to accomplish a task or solve a problem. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency test.
