JOB SUMMARY:
Manages a team consisting of Sr. Buyers, Lead Buyers, Buyers and Assistant Buyers responsible for analyzing and forecasting merchandise needs to ensure the right products and quantities are available for shipment to customers. Acts proactively by studying merchants' sales plans and evaluating product sales history to develop inventory forecasts and adjusts regularly to new sales plans, promotions, sales activity, and manufacturing schedules. Partners with Suppliers, Supply Chain and Distribution teams to ensure profitable acquisition and management of inventory.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for daily activities to support our Business Partners in meeting company initiatives.

Manages a team responsible for purchasing product to achieve customer satisfaction and inventory levels aligned with the company goals.

Responsible for leading the buying team in achieving inner margin goals through initiating deals with our suppliers, along with purchasing investment buys based on rebate agreements, future price increases or supplier deals offered.

Manages team activities of forecast accuracy, excess inventory management and supplier relationships to maximize profitability and ensure company strategies

Responsible to partner in the development strategies of the buying team to increase knowledge and productivity.

Partners with our suppliers to improve overall supply chain and customer satisfaction, maximizing profitability, facilitating meetings on a regular basis.

Partners with Supply Chain team to improve on overall efficiencies and cost savings initiatives

Supports Distribution Team members as improvement and cost saving initiatives realized.

Works with Marketing and Merchandising to understand future strategies/new sales plans, promotions, supplier agreements and excess inventory opportunities.

Performs Sr. Buyer & Buyer Lead evaluations on a period basis to ensure all Inventory Management goals are actively being reviewed and actions are being directed to ensure goals are met. Also monitors Sr. Buyers & Lead Buyer to ensure they are performing Buyer and Assistant Buyer Evaluations on a period basis.

Reviews E3 system reports regularly to analyze status of inventory and forecasted merchandise needs.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards.

Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.

Qualifications

Experience:
Minimum 5 years previous experience as a buyer or comparable position

Supply chain management experience required

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of Inventory Management/Replenishment

Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role

Ability to manage, develop and motivate people

Must demonstrate leadership abilities

Must have prior automated system purchasing skills (i.e.E3)

Good analytical and decision making skills, as well as strong communication skills

Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience, with heavy emphasis on Excel
