This Manager level role requires a strong operational and analytical mind to look for improvements in cost containment, standardized processes, performance metrics and inventory levels. The Manager, Manufacturing is responsible for leading the strategy and execution related to internal/external customer fulfillment, budget, resource utilization, safety, quality and employee engagement for operations areas such as assembly, weld, materials, fabrication and finishing.
The incumbent will drive optimization of resources while driving cost out of the business, improvements into the operation, and facilitate a strategic outlook that will better serve all stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following:
Manage all aspects of area(s) of responsibility such as assembly, welding, materials, fabrication and finishing.
Develop and manage all Key Process Indicators related to area(s) of responsibility such as assembly, weld, materials, fabrication or finishing for the Batesville, Indiana operation.
Develop long-term strategy for area of responsibility that is consistent with the overall supply chain transformation activities.
Partner with the key stakeholders, including sourcing, planning, sales and service, driving continuous improvement ensuring on-time, complete, and compliant deliveries to our customers.
Implement lean concepts and controls.
Achieve a strong culture of Continuous Improvement philosophies.
Analyze root cause and implement effective countermeasures for all defects and production shortages.
Plan, report and monitor inventory levels to support current and planned production levels.
Direct and monitor safety activities relating to preventing employee injuries.
Report and monitor all costs associated to the budget.
Plan, create specifications, and submit Capital Funding Requests (CFR) for necessary equipment.
Drives resolution to issues which includes working with the Sourcing, Sustaining Engineering, Purchasing, QA, QC and other Production personnel to perform root cause analysis and coordinate the necessary corrective actions.

Seven to ten years experience in Materials, Supply Chain, or Production Management
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Business Management.
Knowledge of computer based MRP or ERP programs, Windows, MS Office programs, and Lotus Notes
Experience with ERP systems applied to a complex manufacturing and/or materials environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with other departments, employees, and outside vendors
Proven project management and leadership skills
Knowledge of Kanban, pull, lean manufacturing and CI principles
Must be fluent in English
Effective written and oral communication skills
Effective time management, problem solving and decision making skills
Proven cross-functional team leader/member
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced, ever changing environment, with minimal supervision
Other Qualifications Preferred:
Supply Chain certification
Master’s Degree in business related field
