Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
The position requires five equivalent years of experience in analysis and technical management.
We are seeking a mid level cost estimator with modeling skills, a desire to learn, the ability to digest and understand cost estimating outputs and convert them into budget spreadsheets, documents and presentations. Additionally, a self starter who will define/develop their own workload by working with the customer to establish priorities and find new and innovative ways to add value and seek out new challenges; develop new methods and procedures to streamline work and improve accuracy/traceability.
This position requires an organized, detail-oriented individual with good quantitative and analytical skills, fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating or budget analysis. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills are mandatory to support working directly with government customers and other contractor personnel. Strong spreadsheet and database development/management skills are preferred. Scheduling and earned value knowledge/experience as well as NOAA/NASA budget experience is a major plus.
The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
Task assignments will contribute to a variety of cost and economic analyses in support of NOAA programs. These may include such activities as developing and analyzing complex schedules, analyzing and projecting performance from earned value reporting and generating cost estimates for complex satellites and ground space systems. You may also assist in the development of budget strategies, collection and analysis of financial data, cost collection and estimating, and the development of detailed spending plans, cost tracking and reporting systems.
