The Mid-Market International Leader will be responsible for developing and executing our general strategy with respect to mid market international services, focusing on Employee Health & Benefits (EH&B) services. On a leadership level this will include developing the service offerings, marketing materials, training curriculum, overseeing the client portfolio, directly managing mid market international analysis and indirectly managing mid market international consultants. As an individual contributor, this person will manage and grow his or her own portfolio of mid market international accounts and may also do general international consulting. To fulfill this role, the Mid-Market International Leader will:

Develop and execute a multi-year strategy to build spectrum of mid market customized consulting offerings and productized solutions (including pricing approaches, value propositions)

Monitor Mercer International Consulting Group capabilities and intellectual capital and ensure these are embedded and leveraged for mid market international clients

Evaluate the feasibility of creating regional and global turnkey insurance solutions by aggregating existing Mercer Marsh Benefits products

Work with relevant EH&B global segment leadership to understand and document Mercer Marsh Benefits products and capabilities around the world in servicing small and medium enterprises

Work with Marsh & McLennan Agencies (MMAs) to ensure that offerings and intellectual capital are made available to MMAs and resources are appropriately shared

Oversee intellectual capital and training initiatives including conceptualizing new client issue campaigns and tool development

Develop sales/marketing strategy, materials and forecasts for mid market international work

Lead efforts to aggressively market and expand EH&B mid market international business

Promote EH&B mid market international capabilities internally and externally

Maintain marketplace visibility through public speaking engagements and participation in social business functions

Work with Market Business Leaders to provide input into staffing decisions for mid market EH&B consultants, including hiring, training performance goals and sales targets and indirectly manage and mentor these consultants

Hire, train and supervise mid market international analysts

Sell according to agreed sales target; consult with clients on international issues

Develop and execute mid market international awareness training for domestic generalist consultants and International Consulting Group

Provide input into key global initiatives including IT strategy for multinationals and International Benefit Desk focused on country service excellence

Monitor competitor capabilities

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent experience

10+ years of experience in identifying, designing, recommending and implementing efficient innovative business solutions to clients' complex benefit challenges across multiple countries

Sales background (practical experience in selling to mid sized multinationals)

Strong innovative sales and marketing skills plus the ability to market organizational strengths successfully

Superior analytical, strategic planning, communication, and listening skills

Excellent organizational and project management skills

Proven management skills in leading large, complex projects

Ability to manage, motivate and mentor more junior level staff

Strong knowledge of group insurance

Must have or work to obtain relevant state insurance license
