WHAT WE DO
SocialChorus has created a platform that allows people to share their love for brands with the online community. Rather than relying on Mad Men like ad execs, our clients believe that the best form of advertising are happy customers telling good stories about great products. These happy customers, called advocates, are the best way for brands to promote their products through word-of-mouth marketing that you can trust. Every Tweet, Facebook post, LinkedIn share and blog post is the actual opinion of these brand advocates.
WHAT TECH WE USE
We do agile (XP), test-driven development and pair program 85% of the time. We believe that pair programming is the best way to create clean, simple, efficient code quicker. It also allows devs to enjoy a life outside of work. A typical day for a SocialChorus developer is spent giving constant attention to the ever-changing social API’s and building beautiful and simple UI for our advocates. Some of our big challenges include the next generation of our admin app and tackling our big data problem. We believe in following good practices and have already created new gems to help us with our admin app.
OUR GREAT TEAM
SocialChorus consists of forty employees with a close-knit team of eight developers who love what they do. Our company culture holds true to the work hard/play hard saying. Everyone is ambitious and wants to be the best at what they do, but know when to let loose. SocialChorus believes in investing in their employees, for developers, we do this by:
- Contributing to open source,
- Pair programming, which creates a learning environment,
- Paying for conferences and courses in and out of the Bay Area for devs to attend, and,
- Having people come in who can contribute to the team, i.e. Sandi Metz.
This is a full-time, salaried position offering stock options, paid vacation, and benefits: medical, dental and 401k. Our salaries are competitive with the market rate. We are located on 3rd and Market Street, which allows you to easily access transportation and great food.
