The Undersea Warfare Analysis Group (USWG) conducts detailed assessments and tradeoffs of Navy's Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and broader Undersea Warfare (USW) capabilities to better inform relevant investment decisions. The Military Operations Analyst provides military operational expertise to study teams and develop concepts of employment and concepts of operation for innovative undersea systems.

Responsibilities:

Translate complex military concepts into descriptions that can be developed in our mission and campaign level USW modeling tools. Support projects and program managers and leadership in the timely execution of high-visibility studies. Assist and have the potential to take a leadership role in requirements development, CONOPS development and effectiveness analysis as well as supports the design, development, and utilization of custom-tailored modeling and simulation (M&S) tools for military and related operations analysis issues. Provide top-level decision support analyses including the employment of M&S tools, input and output processing, and statistical analysis as a member or leader of one or more focused project teams (3-8 people).

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics/Applied Mathematics. Master’s degree is a plus. 4-10 years of military operational experience including undersea warfare (USW) or anti-submarine warfare (ASW) is required. Previous experience in mission analysis and problem solution including effectiveness analysis is required. Must have the ability to conceive and successfully guide execution of rigorous analytic solutions to top level Navy issues and experience and expertise in the operational employment of undersea systems including sonar systems, unmanned undersea vehicles, and undersea weapons. The ability to exercise independent judgment and to work autonomously with minimal supervision is required. Must be proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Mathematical tool development, Modeling and Simulation, and/or Wargaming experience and experience in military operations analysis, including requirements definition, conduct of analyses of alternatives, and the JCIDS process is highly desired.
