Duties And Responsibilities & Minimum Requirements:

This position provides technical and multimedia development instruction that empowers Georgetown faculty, students and staff to communicate ideas and research through expressive digital projects. The incumbent instructs and advises users on the design and production of multimedia projects using software, hardware, and audio-visual materials and equipment available in the New Media Center; staffs and supervises the Gelardin New Media Center service desk to provide optimum services to support the research and multimedia development needs of the students, faculty and staff of Georgetown University; and assists in supervising, training and delegating work to student employees. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Graphic Arts or related program; 2 years experience working in a service environment, preferably providing technical support and services to users/customers; 1 year experience teaching required. Must have demonstrated knowledge of video editing programs like Final Cut Pro and/or iMovie; audio editing programs such as GarageBand or Soundtrack; and the entire Adobe Creative Suite. In addition, experience with a wide array of programs, including scanning, productivity, spreadsheet and presentation software; demonstrated use of social media tools for educational purposes is required. Exceptional customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment to help plan and set priorities for the New Media Center’s activities and collaborate effectively with campus partners. The ability to work in a complex, changing environment is a must.
