We are searching for a Natural Gas Pipeline
Engineer/Project Manager for our Pittsburgh, PA
location. This position will provide technical support
within the Appalachian Basin Oil and Gas Services
Department which includes associated offices in PA, WV,
and OH. Primary activities will be to provide support
for oil and gas (primarily in the Marcellus and Utica
Shale) projects with public and private clients.
However, the candidate may be requested to support other
projects/programs such as industrial design projects
within the steel, mining and chemical industries that
are also managed and supported by the staff. The
successful candidate will provide lead-level design
engineering support to on-going and new pipeline
projects related to natural gas and natural gas liquids,
gas conditioning and compressor stations. In addition,
the Natural Gas Pipeline Engineer/Project Manager will
be responsible to plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate
detailed phases of technical work as part of a major
project or in a total project of complex scope. The
ideal candidate will also prepare project proposals and
change orders and successfully complete projects in
accordance with purchase order requirements and budget.
We are searching for a candidate who will provide
direction to project staff personnel to complete project
tasks and also mentor junior level technical support
personnel and oversee and manage the project and
proposal work with assigned junior level project
personnel. The successful candidate will interface with
Client Project Managers, government regulators, other
contractors and other representatives and participate in
technical conferences and shows. In addition, the
Natural Gas Pipeline Engineer/Project Manager will
prepare business development materials for inclusion in
proposals and marketing to current or new clients as
well as make business development calls to prospective
clients.
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
Professional Engineer license in West Virginia or
Pennsylvania is preferred. Minimum of five years of
natural gas pipeline design experience is required.
Candidate must have direct experience providing strong
technical direction/support for natural gas pipeline and
compressor station projects.
Successful candidate should have the following
knowledge/experience: Detail knowledge of oil and gas
industry design standards; Experienced in preparation of
subcontractor procurements for mechanical, electrical,
civil, structural engineering, architectural services,
and equipment specifications; Experience in preparation
of bidding documents for construction of gas pipelines
and compressor station projects; Experienced at taking
natural gas pipeline and compressor station projects
from inception (e.g., proposal preparation) through
conceptual design, detail design, construction and to
completion (e.g., system start-up/commissioning);
Knowledge of water pipeline design a plus but not
necessary. Must be able to function with little
direction to meet project goals; Ability to take
conceptual direction for project tasks and develop
detail plans to complete task; and, be familiar with
requirements of CFR 49 parts 192 and 195 as they relate
to oil and gas. Candidate must be able and available to
travel via land and/or air and possess a valid driver’s
license in good standing.
