Ballistic Missile Defense System Support (BMDSS) Network Security Engineer maintains and manages network and system security for the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) Test Bed. The position is located at Schriever AFB, CO on the JRDC Program.
Responsible to maintain and manage network and system security of the C2BMC Test Bed and BMDSS managed networks within the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC). Provide oversight of the security configurations of a Microsoft Windows based domain and network devices. Reviews project plans to ensure compliance with the Department of Defense (DoD) 8500 series of Information Assurance (IA) directives and DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), security configurations of Active Directory OUs, GPOs and security group membership management. Implements the following programs and technologies: Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program, IEEE 802.1x, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), McAfee, Symantec Anti-Virus and Cisco and/or Juniper network devices and firewalls.
Due to the nature of our work this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
A Bachelors degree and 8 years configuring and troubleshooting in an enterprise WAN/LAN data environment. Experience troubleshooting the following technologies: Windows Server 2003/2008, Windows 7, DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory, Group Policy, Network switching and routing, Network Intrusion Detection/Presentation systems and firewall systems. Candidate must be process oriented and have a good technical writing and verbal communication skills. Must be familiar with the DoD 8500 series of IA directives. The candidate must have one of the following current certifications: Security+, Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) or a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Must have experience running network and system scanning tools such as: eEYE Retina, Nessus, NMAP and Wireshark. This position requires an active DoD Secret level clearance or the ability to obtain.
: CCNA, RedHat Rel 5 or 6 experience, current CISSP, Masters Degree in Computer Security related discipline. Experience in developing a Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) accreditation documentation packages.
