Office of Administrative Services
The Office of Administrative Services encompasses Human Resources Management, Office of the Chief Information Officer, and Security and Administrative Services. Internships are in a wide variety of areas and duties may include working in data processing and assisting personnel management activities.

DUTIES: Under the guidance of the Information Systems Security Officer, the intern will assist with various projects related to Information Security management. Such projects may include participation in security awareness activities, design and implementation of security measures (both technical and procedural), analysis of federal security requirements, system security documentation, and security testing. The Intern will gain an understanding of security requirements in the federal environment as well as general security best practices. Background and coursework in information technology, good oral and written communication skills. Background and/or coursework related to computer security preferred. Ability to work independently, follow directions, and complete work as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: SUBMIT SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT(S). Transcripts will be required if you are selected for an internship. You will be required to bring an official copy with you on the first day of your internship. Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment (at least half-time) in a relevant college degree program (diploma, certificate, etc.) either at the graduate or undergraduate level at the time the internship would be served.

Must be a U.S. citizen Must be currently enrolled in a full or part-time accredited degree/diploma program Must be in good academic standing.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: Department coordinators receive all applications to review, conduct interviews and make selections. Because OPIC cannot pay travel expenses, face-to-face interviews are not required; interviews may be conducted by phone.

BENEFITS: All internships are NON-PAID. The student is considered a volunteer and is not entitled to compensation or overtime during any portion of this assignment. However, a transportation benefit may be provided depending on availability of funds. The volunteer is subject to the federal statutory and regulatory provisions that govern ethical and other standards of conduct, conflicts of interest, suitability, security, and limitations on political activity. The Federal Tort Claims Act and any other federal tort liability statute shall apply to the volunteer. The rules and policies that govern the internal operation and management of OPIC are applicable to the volunteer.
