If you are working or aspiring to work in today's United States Intelligence Community...NOW is the time to join L-3 STRATIS! The Intelligence Solutions Team has a immediate opportunity for a Language Professional.

The Native linguist must have 5+ years of professional experience. This personal should be capable of preserving and conveying the flavor, nuances and subtleties of the original text and interpreting and translating passages that are difficult to understand due to the specific nature or complexity of the language used. The Native linguist may be expected to:

  • Provide gists, summaries, extracts, full and verbatim transcripts and English translations of a variety of audio and written materials.
  • Provide on-line assistance to other operational linguists;
  • Perform quality control as required.

Native linguists must possess native or very near native competency in Arabic/ Yemeni, defined for the purpose of this position as a person who has learned Arabic/ Yemeni since birth through formal education at the secondary level in a country where Arabic/ Yemeniare official or national languages and has full mastery of Arabic/ Yemeni (oral fluency and literacy) and full understanding of his/her cultural heritage.

Native linguists must have an excellent command of the grammar, constructions and syntax of Arabic/ Yemeni.

Native speakers shall be abreast of idioms, colloquialisms and slang and have a sophisticated understanding of the cultural, social and political environment in which Arabic/ Yemeni are used.

The Native speaker shall be bilingual to the extent that they can produce well-written and accurate gists, summaries, translations, and reports in American English.

The Native linguists superior Arabic/ Yemeni capabilities should allow him/her to work largely independently after a short period of target familiarization and training.

Basic internet research skills and an understanding of telecommunications and computer network communications fundamentals are also desired, although not required.

Performance at level 3 in listening, reading and translation as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) required.

Must possess or be capable of obtaining a TS/SCI with poly.
